Thankful

Today, I am thankful for the fire fighters that have come to Canada to help fight the forest fires in Manitoba and Saskatchewan. We are grateful for their help. Also thankful for the Canadian fire fighters who year after year fight the fires burning in our country.

After the wonders of playoff baseball, I have taken a couple of days off from life. Had snoozes yesterday and today still doing very little. Did ironing and hung new curtains this morning. Did the usual chores - make the bed, pick up, walk that darn dog, make a meal. Tomorrow I hope to do a bit more after my dental appointment.

Thursday I have a hearing assessment. I dislike medical appointments of any kind, though thankful most are covered by the government. My dental work was 9/10th covered. If I need hearing aids the government covers the cost. My glasses and the exam are tax deductible. If I get all these done, I should be good for ten years or so.

Having been lazy about cooking new things, I am sick of the three things I cook. These being Kung Poa, Curried noodles and enchilada soup.Being sick of salads, I did luck into a sale this past week on meat so now to decide what new things I can batch cook. Have lots of vegetables around.

I think I sound grumpy, but I am not. Often I feel the need to change the season, when we are just in the middle of the present one. Yup, I am ready for fall. Not sure how or why this happens, but it will pass soon enough.

Jean
