What’s Up

It has been a rather cool week. Loving every bit of it. We even received A couple of good dumps of rain. It cleared the smoke. It is starting to eat that fall feeling. Monday: Worked  Walked a few times Figured out meals for the week. Actually did that on Sunday. Rained with a thunderstorm  Tuesday: Worked  Had a hearing test. I am on the cusp. Was expecting that. Ate out as I was late getting home. Rained in the evening and into the night. Wednesday: Worked as usual.  Walked a few times.  Bought some groceries. $77. Mostly produce. Rained again. Thursday: Worked on the scanning. Lots of junk to eat at work. I sadly partook of it all. Made baked potatoes, roasted carrots and roasted chicken breast for supper. Too good. Walked a few times. Friday: Walked a few times. Dexter made friends with some girls. They walked with us. We chatted about summer and school. Lots of people think I am a teacher, the way I speak and ask questions of the kids. Dismantled some pants that are too big. Tomo

Weekend Doings

Saturday and the living is easy. Up not so early Housework done. Now to decide if I am going to daughters or not. I think not. I have Christmas on my mind. All gifts are homemade. Time to get kraken....wonder how the new Seattle Kraken will do in the NHL. Love hockey and CFL football. Always watched when I was younger. Now I don’t watch, but do check the scores. Our Winnipeg Blue Bombers beat the Hamilton Tiger Cats on Thursday. They also were finally able to put up the Grey Cup Champions banner which the Bombers won in 2019.  No tournaments for baseball this year. Would love to go to the kids baseball tournaments but it is better to protect everyone than have the variant numbers go up. My niece and her family live in Virginia. Father D. And daughter L. went to Disney World. Not a great move. Both have been double vaccinated, but D. picked up COVID variant while there. He is doing okay but the first few days he felt like he had been hit by a train. We can now go mask less if we chose,

Weekly Catchup

Pretty busy week. Celebrated my birthday with the fam on Sunday. Monday, I continued to clean up after the canning session. Tuesday, back to work. Needed to catch up with what came in and it being month end, needed to do all that. Had my hair cut. T sure feels nice to have short hair again. Wednesday, a repeat of Tuesday. At home I had chicken, coleslaw and macaroni salad - my birthday celebration. The left overs will do the rest of the week. Thursday a quiet day at work. We had birthday cake. It was the lemon raspberry one from Costco. It was good. I even took a piece home. At the end of the day the power went out in certain parts of the province. It meant we needed to move things from one lab to two others. Quite a scramble. I think they are only scheduled for power to come back on in three days. Hydro is having a hard time keeping up with all the new growth in southern Manitoba. Instead of looking only at profits, they need to do major upgrades. This brings us to Friday. My housewor

BACK IN BUSINESS

2021-08-02 As previously stated I accidentally deleted my blog. Oh well, it is what it is. I have been busy though. Work is the same, but I did make a blunder the other day. I need to go back and re-scan what I started last week. Oh well. Yesterday, we did my birthday at the Golfers house. It was nice. I missed the little guys though. We will have another go at my Birthday next weekend. This time it will be at She Who Must Be Obeyed’s house. My BIL and SIL are moving this weekend so next weekend will be a repeat. We did have the best lemon raspberry cake from Costco. I have been canning big time.  Fifteen jars of dills, three old cherry pie filling, six of sour cherry jam, eight of relish, five of pineapple-mango salsa. I also have some plum jam left from last year.  After all that, I started fall house cleaning. With all the smoke here, it does look and smell like fall. Still no rain. The fire people say it will be at least October before the fires start to settle down. They figure w
