Life in the Senior lane

 Even though I worked like a dog on Christmas presents, I failed, but it gives me a good start on 2022 gifts. Our Christmas party was pretty good. For a high end place, the food was not great. I certainly could of done better. It was a meal I did not have to cook and I didn’t need to make supper that night. I enjoyed conversation with one of my work mates. Two days after that another workmate came down with COVID-19. Guess who sat very close to him in the ride over to the park? Yup, you guessed right. I only found out about it yesterday. So far so good though my throat was scratchy yesterday and I had a bit of headache. I know it isn’t COVID as I am fine today. It is all weather related. Very quiet Christmas Day, though my DIL did make a good turkey dinner. That surprised me. Mostly we just talked and enjoyed each other’s company. The 27th was at my house. I did up appetizers, made a big mess of ribs....so many, I had to farm them out to other ovens in the building. I made potato salad

 Yesterday would have been my 45th wedding anniversary. I was surprised. I wasn’t emotional about it all week. I got up yesterday morning and thought I would like to go out. All was arranged with daughter and granddaughter. We did some chores then trundled over to my favourite garden center. The do Christmas right. We looked - oooohed and awed over everything. Chose some “your coming home with me” items, took pictures with the grinch. From there we made one more chore stop and then off to The Keg for lunch. The Keg is a steak house. Expensive - yes but much enjoyed. Miss Jade wanted lobster. She is a tiny lady and cannot eat much at one sitting. She is a grazer. We compromised. I had their full meal deal and I added a lobster tail for her. Daughter had French onion soup (I also had it) and their Cesar salad with blackened chicken breast. My meal included the Cesar salad, the main course had grilled zucchini and peppers, a baked potato and a small steak done to perfection. Then we share
