Doings

 Well, the boys got knocked out of the finals. They played long and hard due to rain storm stops and starts.  Now he will golf for awhile until hockey tryouts later in August.  The sports guy is really an all round sports guy.

We’ve had bits of rain off and on due to Alberta having so much rain then it goes through Saskatchewan and by the time it hits here, it is mostly sputtered out. Just enough to bug us but not enough for the farmers. Some parts are looking at drought and poor crops. 

Been fighting a stomach bug the past couple of days. Not sure where I picked it up at, sure is a nuisance. Still been able to do a few chores each day though. I plan to clean my balcony today. Put dishes away, pick up a couple of items I missed yesterday, make a grooming appointment for the dog - just usual stuff.

This coming weekend is our long weekend in most of the country. I think there are still a few provinces that don’t do the August holiday. Too bad, summers are so short and people are happy to have an extra long weekend in summer. We may or may not celebrate a birthday this weekend. Usually we don’t. As much as we try to do each birthday, most years we miss some due to scheduling. We are not a big family so we all understand the situation.
