Baseball

This weekend was playoff A baseball. It was a good series with one exception. The last game of the day the score table had put one run in the wrong column and wouldn’t change it, so our boys lost. Otherwise they would have played the gold game. Boy were we all mad.

Next weekend is AA baseball playoffs. Just as far to drive and I will go by myself. The millwright is on call this week. She Who Must Be Obeyed can’t go to that city as it brings on flashbacks. I will go and his father the golfer will go as much as the course will allow… meaning if the weekend runs smoothly, he can leave early to watch a game or two. Paddy’s AA team is pretty good so should be an interesting watch.

No pictures as the leagues don’t allow it.

The fruit is safely away though not processed, just frozen. It is too hot to heat up the house right now. Raspberries, sour cherries, peas and some other things are now ready to be picked. However, I have been informed we will be getting 1/2 a steer for meat this fall, so now I need another freezer. I just knew this would happen. Hoping I find one at a reasonable price and big enough for the meat. In the meantime I just have to watch how many vegetables we freeze. I think maybe it’s time to replace my pressure canner.

She Who Must Be Obeyed is deciding if we should go to the cabin or go west for a trip. My nephew who is five years younger than me, is in the hospital and will remain there until a nursing home spot opens up. He is dying with COPD. My brother has Alzheimer’s and is now at the stage where he can’t control his pee or his bowels. Again, if you aren’t in a hospital, you aren’t going to get a bed in a nursing home. The shortages in Canada are horrendous. Anyway, we should see them both soon.  It’s either go now or late in August.

 Sorry for lack of pictures.

Jean
