Summer
Seems to be colder than spring. I know, I know it will change and will be complaining about the heat. Right now there are no mosquitoes due to it being so dry. We still have bad air quality from the forest fires, but am happy that most people from way up north can go back home. I think only one place got hit hard by the fires. Those firefighters do a good job and must be beat at the end of every shift. Right now we are getting smoke from the North West Ontario fires that are burning right up to the Manitoba border. Still some areas of provincial parks in the east are closed to cottagers, and campers. Having said no mosquitoes though, we have lots of ticks.
Been a pretty expensive month beginning with May and following into June. Got new glasses, my car was fixed and needs another fix by fall. Expecting it to be in the $2000 range. I am going to need new tires next year. Thankfully these will do until winter tire change over. I am going to get good tires next time. If I am going to drive, I want good equipment.
My step granddaughter grads this week from high school. We will not see her or take part in the festivities, as mom won’t let us see her. We do see her on the sly and will have some kind of gathering for her soon. Right now The Grad got accepted into psychiatric nursing hence she will become known as the Nurse 1. The most recent grad is going through for general nursing so she will be known as Nurse 2. The airplane guy loves working at the airport and so don’t see him leaving there ever. He may try for other positions but his passion is airplanes. He and She Who Must Be Obeyed are really into sports and enjoy going together. They may be found every Tuesday and Thursday and Goldeyes games or Blue Bomber games. In the winter it is either Moose games or Jets games. The urge, Mr,. Basketball and Mr. Baseball all attend with them as time permits. The nurse is working full time, Mr. Basketball is a full time groundskeeper at one of the cemeteries and Mr. Baseball is playing both A level and AA level ball. The golfer of course is busy at his course. The millwright is busy with his job and has been taking some electrical training as there is always shortages of staff. Training is good to get when opportunity arrives.
Me, I am just happy that I got all my housework done cause it now starts canning season. I will get some rhubarb this week and strawberry picking starts this week. Radishes etc. are ready. So looking forward to good salads. In two weeks the Saskatoons will be ready. Things are starting to grow wonderfully here so will be busy filling jars and the freezer.
