Another Week

Flies by. The end of June is in sight. The coming weekend will be filled with baseball. The baseball guy a.k.a the pitcher is playing on three teams. His league team has playoffs this weekend in my husbands hometown of Altona. Next weekend his A ball playoffs will be in Lac Du Bonnet. Then the weekend after will be his AA league playoffs. Haven’t heard where they will be, but those could be anywhere in Manitoba. This weekend I also need to deliver a couple of plant stands to my son. I will do that on Sunday, if he doesn’t have too many calls as he is on call this weekend.

I decided to try Amazon for food items. I did manage to get quite a few things for a whole lot cheaper than in the stores. They don’t have too much just packaged food, but, did get some items I use regularly. One item I cannot get in the stores and one item was $5 cheaper. Another couple of items were $2.49 compared to $5.69 in the stores. Not sure if I will ever order again. Time will tell.

Now seven people are moving out of the apartment in the next couple of months. Our rent went up by $100 per unit. That’s a whole lot of cash. Three have bought houses as mortgages are cheaper than rent. I am okay because I pay a good price for a three bedroom. Does a single person need a three bedroom? No, but I felt led to rent a three bedroom and it has come in handy where both of my boys have had to move in for various reasons over the past few years. I did apply for a one bedroom up where my daughter lives, but am relieved I didn’t get it. I currently live in a small town about 20 minutes from the city. If I moved up by daughter, I would be an hour from the city. This July they are bringing in new licensing rules for seniors and if I get caught in that snare, I would want to be in the city (I think). Along with the seniors being hit, those who are applying for drivers education are being suspended for no reason and now my grandson has to wait till January to finish his training. Manitoba Public Insurance has let the MPI offices know to suspend as many kids and seniors as possible. My grandson had already taken half his driver ed classes when all of a sudden he was to he was suspended because he didn’t finish all nine units online (which he did). Apparently the more they suspend the more bonuses the employees get. Sucks to be a driver in Manitoba.

I got to watch my son’s step daughter’s graduation on line. I yelled and clapped when she got called for her diploma. So excited for Anika.
