A DAY OFF

The golfer actually took today off. He went golfing with three other pros. They golfed from sunup to sundown. 76 holes were done. He hasn’t taken a day off since mid April and that was for his daughter’s birthday. It was a perfect day for them. So happy they could arrange it.

I did grocery shopping today. At Giant Tiger, I was able to get most of what was on sale. Things missed were lettuce and plums both were already sold out. Then at Co-op I got what I could there. Missed a couple of things - chicken strips and a whole seedless watermelon. I will go get those tomorrow. In reality, I should have gone to the Co-op in the city as the one here in town was also out of lettuce. Guess I should have tried the farmers market last night. Live and learn. I sure don’t know what’s up with lettuce being in short supply.

I also received an Amazon order for some groceries they had on very reasonable. Most of it I will pass onto the Millwright. He can only go shopping every two weeks. When I see deals for him, I will pick them up. Right now he doesn’t have a car and cannot use his work truck for errands.

Yesterday I helped a young gal with transporting a bed frame home for one of her kids beds. The kids have been sleeping on the floor on mattresses. Happy it fit in my vehicle. Will keep my eye out for another one for her other child. She also needs a small dresser. She is interested in mine, but I am not ready to sell it yet.

We are going into another warmish bought of weather. It is the start of summer holidays and most of the campgrounds are open again. Nice to see people able to get out and enjoy the outdoors. Summers seem so short.
