Out Like A Lion

 We are to get another snowstorm starting tomorrow and into most of Friday. We will have a couple of days break then snow storm again. Today we hit 11C. It wasn’t as nice as yesterday due to the wind, but hey, we finally hit the magic 10C in March. I did some morning sunbathing lol. Yesterday, I wore shorts and rolled up my shirt sleeves. I sat out for two hours. Today it was1/2 hour. That wind got cold.

I cleaned my outside windows and the glass on my balcony. I have twenty feet of balcony and did both sides. I missed a few spots but it looks so clean. I will do those spots once the storms pass. So nice to no see mud and dirt when I look out. It will be even better once I use the shop vac to clean the balcony. 

Mr. Oakley sat out all day yesterday and most of today. Next week is spring break and I noticed on some of the schools signboards that the kids are out on Friday also. Nice. Lots of birds are back. Canada geese, snow geese, ravens, crows, the chickadees are sure making a racket. Most of my town is old so lots of trees for the birds. Haven’t heard a robin, or see one yet. Also this week is typically the week the meadowlarks come back. I haven’t heard one yet, though I would need to be out of town for that event.

Our provincial government has made a mandate that it is free to get into all provincial parks this year. Yay them. Looking forward to doing some walking/hiking. Nice.

So what else have I been up to. Well, my rent just went up by $100. Not good but expected. The only utility I pay is heat. $30 of my rent goes towards water, but I just count it as part of the rent. I’ve been cutting up flannel for blankets. I am doing one of the blankets totally by hand. So when my thumb gets sore from cutting, I have a bunch of squares ready to be stitched. Sort of a quilt as you go.
