JANUARY WRAP UP
The only goal I had for January was to stay out of the stores. I did great on that front, however, I did need gas and some groceries. Total spend was $80.67 on gas. This should do me until the end of March. Can hardly wait for the warmer temps. Last year I only filled up twice during the warmer months ie. April till October. Then in November I filled up and it did till this past week. There were some awesome grocery deals. I only bought what I usually purchase utilizing the sales. We only have one grocery store in town. It is a co-op and we don’t get many deals and some items are bad, but they still try to sell them. I did end up going to the city to compensate. Thankfully the city is close by. My total was $219.87. I was over by $19.87. That should be okay. With February being a short month and only needing dog food, fresh veggies plus one other item it should be a good saving month. I have saved almost $1000.00 during January. My savings account thanks me.
On the clean it out, use it up or fix it, I got rid of two big black garbage bags of stuff, plus a dehumidifier that was broken and the extra leaf for my dining room table. When I do get around to moving, I won’t have room for it and I don’t really use it. I can fit eight around the table without the leaf and the younger set always likes to hang out in the living room. For quite a few years we did the family gatherings at The Golfers, of at She Who Must Be Obeyed house. We even did one at the Millwright’s house, but their house is tiny. It just seems to want to come back here.
One the creative front, I had been saving up tea towels from work that were on their last legs. My plan was to make them into cleaning rags. I split each one in half then hemmed them. I also finally got around to weaving in the ends on an Afghan I made. I did pick up a few supplies for valentines creation. Maybe this week I will work on that.
Exercise, well let’s just say with it being winter long walks have been out. I do manage anywhere from 3-7 thousand steps each day. Pretty good. Last Monday we even got to do our five mile route. Maybe I shouldn’t have pushed it as my hip is still sore. Ah, live and learn. Oakley loved the walk and smiled all the way, even as he was peeing everywhere. How does an 18lb dog hold that much??? This coming week we are back to cold but with lots of wind.
Below your pretties.
Jean
